apparently gm didn't think it was nessessary to provide rolldown windows on the rear doors of the regal sedans? :Do No: WIERD!

any of you regal gurus know anything about the reasoning behind this?

Look at how your door curves to fit over the wheel well. Now trace from the lower rear corner of the glass straight down. It's only abour 4" of allowable rolldown space.

Just avoid driving it off bridges if you have rear seat passengers.

I always thought that was wierd too. I just bought a 83 Cutlass (G-Body) wagon, and it has power wing windows in the back doors. I am Big Pimpin now.

It was a way for them to get more space for back seat passengers -- they advertised it as a big improvement, sort of how they did with removing vent windows on the front doors.

I think the big change in the 1973 model to do away with the long roof line with no post between the front window and rear window, was due to rollover tests, from what I have heard.

The roof was just not strong enough with only supported at the front and at the back.
