Unless some sort of reversal is made correcting the way in which the preferred debt-holders were mistreated in the GM and Chrysler bailouts, I don't see GM making a viable long term recovery and more dealership stories such as this will occur around the country. People I know who would have considered a new GM vehicle are not happy with the bailout which favored politically-connected interests rather than those debt holders that our laws and fairness favored had the company followed the prescribed bankruptcy process.
