i seen these a lot lately people putting huge rims on cars.it doesnt look good at all what the hell are they thinking???is it that they cant fit 22s on a honda that they have to ruin american classics??? the other day i saw a 70 chevelle with 20s and a 4'' cowl, people are seriously confused!!!! daytons, and 20s dont belong in a muscle car worse a muscle car with 20'' daytons  :blast: :blast: :blast:
I was at a car show today and saw a 1970 Skylark with a 70 GS grill and the car had 22 inch wheels that looked retarded! Overall the car was in great shape except the interior. It was for sale listed as best offer. Mike
66 Skylark Crap Wagon Must be difficult to get in that thing will your pants half way down your butt and both hands full of rappy hip hpo CD"s Just my two pukes worth ou: ou: ou:
lets profile this for a sec, just for shits and giggles. probably mid-20s, works installing car stereos, has access to or knows someone with a tire and wheel shop. these rims are expensive, anyone who can really AFFORD to put these on a car would have better taste than to butcher them onto a car like this, so someone "sponsered" this whole thing for the stereo installer. also, this person has no sence of proportion or practicality. and i am sure he or she [sorry truzi] doesent really drive this car as it would be a complete pig to handle. i wonder how much of the fenders were cut up so the tires could be installed at all? and i will bet the car is in or the owner wants to be from southern california ou:
I seen the twin to this car at the Woodward Cruise this year, it was a '65 though, and silver, but otherwise it was a twin, big wheels, the whole deal, i felt sick when i seen it, the only '65 I seen at the show, a real embarrasment!!! :blast:
why? remember back in our day we(not me of course)would sneek up at night and "liberate"a set of wheels, and leave the car on jackstands? this owner would wake up to no car and the wheels laying on the ground  i really dont like to bash anyones personal taste cause i have some kinda odd ones(69 gsx)but thats ok in this case,he has no taste  excuse me while i projectile vomit out my :moonu:
I love large rims with low profile tires. But I prefer the Overhaulin look with a lowered car, not a lift kit to clear them. Those look like 24's, something that would fit nice on a hummer or an escalade. I inspected one of these cars with 24's in western canada. 5 wheel spacers on each wheel to keep from rubbing against the frame. Cut up fenders to prevent from rubbing. And a lift kit. I'm all for new age modifications on cars new and old. But when you need to lift your car like a monster truck to fit your monthly welfare cheque financed rims then its just rediculous. If you want to see more cars like this just for kicks, check out: http://www.eastcoastryders.com/ (cars lifted on 28" rims) http://www.bigchrome.com/ funny stuff. ou:
And I felt bad with 15" wheels on my 66 GS I put 15" American Torque Trust D's on my 66 GS and I felt guilty taking of the 14" Buick road wheels. Now I don't feel so bad. I like the color - same as mine - verde green. This could be a nice convertable!
I think the car is beautiful! I would buy it in a minute. Course, the next minute those wheels and tires would be on ebay to finance fixing what got mutilated.
welcome to South Georgia y'all. I got fifty bucks says I can describe the owner!! (and I have no idea who he is!!)
well, if you mean the owner may be young, more interested in appearances than actual substance, and easily influenced by a collection of peers who all think the same way he does, that is pretty easy.....and not relegated to south Georgia, either. funny thing is. that could describe anyone [maybe not the "young" part, but you get my drift]. we, as a group are influenced by our peers as well, it is just that "WE" don't see anything practical or that appeals to our interests about that [the big wheel "dub"] style. i look at these cars and i kinda laugh...and hope it is just a passing phase. someday someone will take these cars back to the shape they were meant to be in....or not, depending on what the next popular mods are going to be. personally, i think a lot of folks...not just us, are getting tired of the big wheel look...you see too many sets of three of those wheels and tires for sale. gee, i wonder what happened to the forth wheel? :spank:
most don't own the wheels they lease them, the car looks funny on blocks when the wheels have been repo'ed:rant: :bglasses:
