Nipples rubbed off...

    I'm talking about pistons. How much volume change in cc's will removing the nipples make? This is on a set of 2362P that suposedly have 16 cc of dish.

    I don't think you want to do that. I believe they help create swirl in the cylinder, taking them out could be a very big mistake. I'm sure someone else can tell you a bit more...:TU:

    I seriously doubt they create swirl. I've always heard that they are there because of the machining process used to create the dish. If anything, they're probably a hot spot that could cause detonation. As far as volume goes, why don't you measure the diameter and depth of the nipple and just calculate it? It should get you relatively close.

    It's already gone. I guess I'll just cc the top of the piston and see how much it changed.
