not mine but it looks like a nice driver... any member out there consider and try to save this car if you can.. http://portland.craigslist.org/mlt/cto/2206850316.html
Someone could get that for cheap too! Forget that he's asking 1000 for it and offer him the wrecking yard price.
Man, that car would have turned to dust years ago around here. That seems like a pretty good deal for someone to get into the classic car hobby.
that is an awesome deal, I would have that right now if it were on the right coast somewhere-hope it finds a good home
Rick Henderson has retired from hauling cars. He had to go to the hospital after the last trip (from here) and he wont be hauling any longer now. He will explain later on Im sure.
Parked on grass/dirt for 6 years usually means that the floors and frame are gone. Hopefully who ever looks at it reports otherwise, but I doubt it'll be pretty. I'd also be leary of it sitting that long without anything over the carb. I can only imagine the moisture that must have built up in that motor by now.
would be a good sleeper with the skirts and all. Wish I had a place to put her. It would be tempting. Tim
I'm in talks with him, and have been for the last 10 days. It would be my second one, damn addiction hits fast, and would possibly be for parts and such to swap with mine. Says it has 455, two 2 speed AT, and manual windows. The problem is I can't haul it down to Portland. I don't think a tow dolly behind a Ford Ranger would do this, and I would have to borrow a truck and trailer, or pay a hauler to move it which adds at least $200. If I get a chance this weekend to go look it over I will, but it is valentine's weekend and I'm taking my wife away to go wine tasting out in the Oregon wine area near Carlton/McMinnville. Wife and wine > old car. Its simple math.
Just have the hauler bring it while your out at the wine tasting It will be a surprise. " Look what I bought you honey"
1) Call and Tell the seller you're on the way to buy it, dont say how much. 2) Get there with the trailer ready to load and go. Inspect the vehicle and parts carefully and critically. If solid body, and good parts, whip out $700 in $20's Stay firm and keep that cash in sight the whole time. Be sure you assure him you're BUICK through and through going to a good home, etc...... Adjust cash outlay accordingly to condition of car and parts. 3) Load and go. 4) Report back to us If it goes to All American, the next time we see it for sale it will be for $3000.00. There it will sit with the other rotting away over priced cars until it makes it to the back forty for de-boning, which will surely generate the $3000 in parts over time especially if the extra parts the seller claims go with it.
Back in the mid 80's,my brother bought a 66 Special 2 door with a 67 nose on it. This car reminds me of it. It was a New car dealers project that he built for his son and the son didn't like it. It had a low mile 70 455 and turbo 400 installed from a wrecked Electra, shortened driveshaft and stock rear with 256 gears...all for $500. What a ride....
