    Just looking for some information.

I have to ask this question as it is being asked of me. Is the IHRA going to require everyone to wear a jacket next year? I make it to the track maybe 4 times a year and most of those are club-type events. I am running a pure-stock Hurst/Olds and the car has had a best time of 13.56. What level are the IHRA tracks talking about and has anyone heard what the NHRA is going to do. I have no problem getting one, just wanting to know if I need to get one!

TTT, I didn't know if anyone had the lowdown on the slower cars.

I look at it this way: If I were a professional racer, I would join both the NHRA and the IHRA-this way no matter what track I went to,I would be covered. This way there are aren't any issues.

If I were a professional racer I'd be lobbying for a common chassis cert and Drivers licence . If your Licence is an indicator of your knowledge and ability to drive a car at a certain level or speed does it matter if it's an NHRA or IHRA card ? If you have a drivers licence in Ohio do you need a different one in NewYork or Canada ?
If all chassis's are certified to SFi standards does it matter if it's an NHRA or IHRA sticker ???
There's a limited # of racers ,why make it more costly and difficult for them than it already is ?
If you want to run an NHRA or IHRA sanctioned event then I agree with them requiring a Membership from that organization if you expect to participate and be covered by thier insurance etc.
Also don't assume that by purchasing a membership you are covered by thier insurance . In a lot of cases it only applies to covered events and comes into effect when all other sources are exhausted .
Check with event organizers and the track to see what is covered .
It's only money that drives these requirements not common cents !
