    Welcome to the board!

I think you would be happy with the performance that a 455 would give you in that car. I haven't done it myself, but I gather that it is a pretty straightforward operation, and there are lots of people that have done it so it should be easy to get help if you have problems. I've seen several and it generally looks like the big motor just belongs there. TA Performance sells the motor mounts and headers, and if you have a V6 in that Regal now, a 455 would probably bolt right up to the tranny. I'd expect low 13's/high 12's from a pretty mild 455 in that car. A more potent motor could put you in the 11's easy. Serious sleeper potential.

In any case, if you are going to go to the trouble of putting in a new motor, I would get something a little peppier than that anemic Olds 307. There are several places out there that will sell you a complete 455 ready to drop in. Here's an example:

Trannies that will fit a Buick V8 in your car (as far as I know)-
TH350 w/ Buick-Olds-Pontiac (BOP) bellhousing and short tailshaft
TH400 w/ BOP bellhousing and short tailshaft
    700r4 w/ BOP adapter plate
    200r

    Welcome aboard:beer

I strongly recommend to put a buick motor in your car, wether it's a buick V6 or a buick 455. Oldsmobile engines are not meant to be put in a buick, at all. Even a buick 350 would be a great engine with very good power.
