    Hey all,

i'm new to the list and wanted to say hey. I just inherited a 1963 La Saber stationwagon from my Aunt. It has a 401 nailhead with a single 2bbl carb and the Dynaflo tranny. Mechanically it's in pretty good shape. She had a factory trained GM mech. who would do anything she wanted to the car so she kept it up except for the interior. The door panels are shot, but the seats are in pretty good shape. Wind wing cranks are missing and the mechanisms for both wind wings are broken ( can move wind wings by hand; not good ). Lock on the glove box is broken. Courtesy light cover missing on dash. Water bottle for the windshield washer missing and it looks like it attaches to the firewall by the length of the hose on the cap which is still there. Car has white top, blue bottome. Interior is blue and appears to be the deluxe interior with two-tone panels on seats. I decided not to try to restore it to original condition but to have some fun with it. I can definitely use some help concerning the best places to find parts for it. I have the impression being a "63" and a stationwagon is not in my favor. Hope to make a nice cruiser out of it and maybe put a few bolt on go fast parts here and there just for the heck of it. Thanks a head of time for any suggestions.

Front shot. Thanks everyone for the kind words. I fell in love with this car the first time I got to drive it over 20 years ago. Long story but my Aunt saved it for me. Gave it to me about a month and a half ago and then died 2 weeks later. I promised I'd take good care of it. When my daughter first saw it she said I could never sell it. It has to stay in the family. Wildcat 1562, I have a friend who is a Buick fiend who is going to a big Buick/GM car show back in the south somewhere and will look for some of the things I need. As soon as he gets back I'll figure out what else I need and I'll let you know. I appreciate the offer as I know little about Buicks and haven't established any parts connections yet, but I'm learning. Always been a Ford/Mopar guy. Greg Motta, they have a little car show every Friday at a local Ruby's restaurant after work. Saw a couple of slammed 65 Riviera street rods that gave me some crazy ideas about the wagon, but I think I'm going to make a nice cruiser out of it and just have some fun cleaning it up. Right now I'm thinking white tuck-n-roll interior to go with the white top. 4bbl manifold and Carter 750 CFM spread bore. Finned Aluminum Valve covers, valley cover and spark plug covers to start. Not sure about the air cleaner yet. My Buick buddy has some headers, which I been told are hard to find, which he said he might be able to part with if the price is right. I been doing a little homework since I got the car and that's what I've come up with so far. First thing I should do though is get a car cover for it since I don't have any more room in the garage for another car and my wife won't let me keep it in the house. :Do No:

Nice car! Boy I can see it dropped with some 17's and Boyds wheels. Or complete stock looking with a stealth screamer under the hood. She's a beaut.

You got it. That's what I can't decide. I have a feeling what I'll do is start with the stealth/sleeper mode and then proceed with the lowering process later on.
