    Hi!

Okey, I will probably have a 455 -71 engine in my electra, but,
what transmission is the best choise to the engine? Th400?

I would like to have a strong one and with lookup/overdrive,
and what I know there aint any th400 with this?
    - Or is it silly to search for a tranny with lookup and overdrive
to this project? (my idea are not to build a extreme racecar, but a strong, fun and "economic" cruiser)

    :)

BOP 200-R Trans but you perhaps should have it upgraded for the 455 torque which is more than its original design capacity.

I'm running a 700R4 with a lockup torque converter in mine (GS Skylark)and like it real well. Mike D.

    alec296 i need another buick

bowtie overdrives .com or raptor trans does overdrive trans
you could go with a low gearset in 400 and a external overdrive unit.
either way overdrive trans will be a bit pricey to get it "right"
a good 2004r will cost to hold up .also you need to set the detent cable up right before you start engine or it could cause a problem with pump .
so get everything set up correctly .

    So... lets se....

I'm not so happy about rebuild it stronger.... Just want to plug and play.. :)

Whats the best choise if i dont want to change anything in it,
    Regular TH400, 200-4R, TH700

Th700 = strong enough for a 455, more or less strong then the regular th400 ?

-Is it tricky to assemble the th700 on a 455, I have seen adapters to do it, whats the price in US for a such adapter?

    :)

I believe only the TH 400 is rated to be strong enough without the modifications.
