Hi all, I just came across your site here while trying to find some info and i'm enjoying reading some of the posts. To start off, I'll give you some info about myself. I bought my first project car about 3 years ago, when I was 20. It was a 1955 Roadmaster, see attached pic. It is in really nice shape, but I'm changing a few things on it. I haven't driven it in close to 3 years now, and I'm missing it. I'm hoping this summer will be the summer it hits the streets again. The info I was looking for when I came across this site, which i'm hoping somebody will be able to help me with, is front disc brake conversion. Has anybody done this here? I don't really have the cash to spend on a $1000 conversion kit that I see places selling. I'm thinking there has to be a car out there that I can use as a donor and just steal the brakes off of it. If anybody as any useful info on this topic, please let me know. I would really appreciate it. Thanks in advance. Bryan
Hi Bryan, and welcome to V8Buick.com You might want to also try asking your question on the BCA's website HERE Good luck with your project, and that looks like a sweeeeet car :TU:
Greetings from Kansas City! I know that there was someone on here that was looking at using S-10 parts kits for disk brake conversions on the 60's and 70's Buick muscle cars. Considering how cheap parts are for S-10's this would be quite a windfall for a lot of us. If I remember correctly, it was a pretty close fit out of the box and you only needed to do a little machining on the steering knuckles. I don't know if that would help you out at all, but it might be worth a read. Welcome to the board! - Freed
