So I found this board in some searching because I was looking for some info and others opinions on Buicks. From what I've seen this seems like a very lively site which is nice. I've got a 1972 Buick Skylark 350-4. I've had the car for a while but its just been sitting in the driveway doing nothing. I've been trying to get it up and running and into the place I want it to be at recently. So I've had the top redone and the interior redone recently. And it is just now getting into running shape. Its got around 90k miles and I just had the tranny replaced because it blew. Its in desparate need paint job and some minor body work but those will happen in time. I've got it up and running which was my biggest goal for the summer. The cosmetic stuff is after making sure the stuff under the hood is sound. I do have a quick question however, if anyone could tell me how it would be possible to get an fm radio into the skylark if it is at all possible.

I'm just looking forward to getting some good knowledge on the buick and how I can start to improve it and everything, thanks in advance...

    Welcome aboard Taurean!

Sounds like a pretty kool kar man. You might find some help on the radio situation by asking the question in the Buick FAQ section, a lot of guys here own Skylarks so someone should know about it.

    Good Luck,

Hiya Taurean. I'm a newbie, too. have been for a loooong time.

Yes, of course you can put a different radio in your Skylark. You will have to fabricate some sort of bracket to hold your new radio, because it will be much smaller than the original unit. Alternatively, you can install the radio on a bracket that hangs under the dashboard.

Personally, I Like the Kenwood model 1006. It is cheap, and it's a double post unit that will fit through the factory chrome radio plate. The wiring is pretty simple, but you won't have a constant "on" power source for the digital clock unless you run one yourself. I never bothered to do it, I own a watch, lol
