New wheels on the '65

Finally got the 17" Cragars on the 65 GS. Something totally new for me, always had 15's.

 

I like it! Looks good!

What size tires?

 

Front 215-55-17; rear 235-60-17 Coopers.

 

I don't venture north of 15".rims but your car looks awesome! Love the look, hope the ride isn't too rough.

 

So far I am impressed with the the ride. I struggled with the decision to go bigger than 15's too for quite a while so I know what you mean. I am keeping the 15's on the 66's.

Those were on my short list when I was wheel shopping. I really like the look of the 17" Cragars on your car.

 

Great choice. I too looked for a few years before I decided in my choice.

Also my first 17 inch wheels. I get many compliments on my selection. Which is kinda like a craeger but with a twist. Sharp spokes.

Mind if I ask the wheel offsets and what size tires you got to clear?

Wheels have 4.25" BS front, 4.5" BS rear. I do have a slight rub in the front when cranked all the way but will figure that out.

 

Looks real nice. Do they make snow tires in that size?

 

Wheels and tires have been on for a few months now and the ride is good. I have not had any rubbing issues after replacing aged springs. Overall very happy with the Cragars and Coopers!

 

Were the wheels special order or off the shelf? I have a 64 riviera i am getting ready to get wheels for myself and thought i might go a similar route.
