I have a "new" never started original Buick 350 (5.7L) motor on its original shipping pallet. Its complete from oil filter to carb....never been started....no serial number either. Casting # is 25504744 (1972-80 H/J??) I'm not sure exactly what year..but its painted blue if that helps. Anyway...I have a guy bugging me for it...but I have no idea of its worth. Any ideas???? Thanks...Mike

If you do a Google search for "crate engines", you will find that Chevy 350's with pans and carbs sell in the low $2,000 range.

Since yours will be "as is", maybe half or less, about $1,000, may be fair.

how in the world do you have a NEW engine that is atleast 23 years old?!?!?

  4. That would be called NOS or New Old Stock.

I don't recall Buick painting any of their new engines blue. Are you sure you don't have a ford motor? They are the only ones that I know used blue from the factory. Buick painted them red.

  6. Jason, I thought the later 70's 350's were painted blue?

I think that is correct. One 350" HEI I got from the junkyard was a light blue color.

I personally think that this is pretty cool. If it was stored correctly and in perfect shape, I'd say $1,500!

    I agree

I've seen later 350 manifolds on E-bay with blue paint jobs.

    Perhaps they're bizarro Buicks!:Do No:

BTW - Anything north of $750.00 for a 350 smogger is ambitious in my opinion. NOS 455 short blocks touch 1500.00 on Evil-bay and that's factoring in the crazies.

Ask yourself how many people are beating down the door for Buick 350's? Smogger 350's?

in the 75/76 year time frame the buick engines turned blue, the 455 blocks from this time period are refered to as blue blocks. My 78 V6 is blue as well. Just FYI
