Hey all my step-mom has a woody wagon as you can tell by my sig that im buying. After driving it i realized its a whole lot of fun :) friends and i had a blast....anyways i definately like the cargo room for when i go mt biking/snow boarding and the torque helps too, which feels strong to me considering im used to driving around my little civic :)

I still love imports but this Buick kicks sum ass. Right now im having trouble finding resources and info for my car. Considering Hondas are so popular i find all kinds of info on my civic, but with Buick it is a lot harder. Specifically i want to know about potential engine swaps (V8, as this board is specifically for that), and the first thing i want to do is change the tranny to something with shorter gears. Oh and towing capacity, torque/hp numbers would be great as well. And links to sites dealing with buick performance in general would be awesome.

If any one cares I plan on autocrossing my civic, and now that im getting this buick i think ill pick up sum drag racing. i cant wait to go to the track, with a old rusty station wagon, and beat ricer civics....ahh good times :)

    hmm...

Since it has the 3.8 in it alread,y you have a good foundation for some mods that will help your car move along the road.

Take a gander at these sites:

    www.turbobuick.com
    www.turbobuicks.com

There are also lots of V6 and turbo Regal guys on the board here.

You may want to give TA performance a call and see what they might recommend as far as upgrades.

Take a look here also for more vendors:

    http://www.buickpartsdirectory.com/

In the "Engine" section, you''ll find numerous vendors dealing in 3.8 parts.

    Welcome to the board

Happy to have you around. I'd like to have an autocrossing car myself, but the wife insists I only have one project car at a time.

If I remember correctly, your Century wagon is rear-wheel drive. If that's the case, I shouldn't think it would be much harder to put a big block in it than it would be in a Regal. Even in stock form, a big block in that car would have at least twice the horsepower and 2-3 times the torque of that 125-horse v6 you have now. With a cam, intake, and some tuning, 350 horse is easy to get out of even a later model 455. Depending on what motor you started with and how much you are willing to spend, 500 horsepower is very possible to make without making it too hairy to drive on the street. Even a mild 455 in a woody wagon could make for a serious sleeper.

If you are a FWD Century owner, don't fret. You just need to go looking for newer parts instead of older. A supercharged 6 from a later model Regal, Riviera or Pontiac would probably squeeze in there nicely, and would probably be smog-legal to boot. (Even if it comes out of a Pontiac, that v6 is still a Buick motor!) It will cost a little more to customize, but with a chip, injectors, intercooler, and pulley, there's lots of guys in the 12's on that motor.

    Happy hunting!
