Stopped by to check out a few things for my Jeep, thats right I said Jeep, and decided to join. I am rebuilding a 1971 Jeep Wagoneer that came with a Buick 350 in it. I'm sure most of you have heard that they did that from '68-'71. Currently I'm running a GS350 4-barrel manifold, 9.5:1 heads, GS350 cam and dual exhaust. I love this engine as it has so much torque down low. I would, however, like to pump it up a little more and any input from anyone would be greatly appriciated. I've never worked on Buicks before, Mopars and Chevys, and found the engine to be very easy to work on, with the exception of the distributer hold down bolt, and well enginered. Lookin gfoward to stopping by from time to time.

Glad to have you aboard. There are a few other jeep people on the board, so you are not alone :beer . Feel free to ask any questions etc you may have. Glad to have you here!

    Hey Wagoneer Man!!!
Since you've worked on the Buick powered Jeep, I thought maybe I ought to ask something. I intend to pick up an ex U.S. Army Kaiser-Jeep M715. They were built 67-68, and are, more or less, like a J10 or 20, except that they are 1-1/4 ton trucks that can take a 42 inch tire with little mods. I was wondering what I would need to do to get a 455 in one? Does your Jeep have different frame pads? Are your motor mounts any different than what came in a car? I just want to know what I'm in for. My 81 F250 "woods hoopie" is pretty rough and not too safe (even for the woods).

The M715s came with the Kaiser 230 Tornado. Did you pick this truck up? You could use a T400 with Buick style adapter and run a number of transfer case options on a big block. The motor mounts for the 350 are different than the AMC powered FSJs.

Wow!! Totally forgot about this post.

No, didn't pick up the truck up. I think I'm just going to deal with the F-250. I picked up a 460 for it for $75.

Don't get me wrong though, I'd really like a Kaiser!!

s'cool - we would love a 460 for the 91 Ford Nite 150 we have a blown 302 in it...

Do like the Full Size Jeep Thing myself! We have 2 401s that pull like no problemo... :bglasses:
