Good to hear, Jason. I placed an order with Y1 on 12/31, haven't heard a peep despite several emails. Hopefully, some wheels went their way too. :Do No:

    Floating this to the top....

I still have an unfilled order with Y1. I spoke to them and they said there seems to be no end in sight for the 15 x 7 backorder. I know some people were getting supplied by some other vendors, what's the word on the street? Should I cancel with y1 and go elsewhere? Or hold my spot in line with them?

I called Wheel Vintiques a couple days ago. I was told that they're still on back order at least until mid August. He pointed out that it could concievably be longer. I would hold your place, it seems that Summit and Jegs both raised their prices on them. Went fron 125.00 to 150.00 a wheel

Your problem is not with Year One, which is one of several retail sellers, it is with the single-source manufacturer, Wheel Vintiques.

If Heinz is not making ketchup, it doesn't matter which supermarket you go to, none of them will have Heinz Ketchup.

I found it helpful to call Wheel Vintiques directly. At least they will tell you if they plan to make more Buick wheels, and when.

I got some 15x8s from Coker Tire in about 5 days. Had to pay about $20 extra per wheel plus shipping (compared to Summit), but I got them. They prolly have x7s too. They did also have x10s. FYI the wheels were actually produced by Specialty Wheels in 12/04.

    Supply and demand baby!

I have not had good luck with Specialty wheels. I finally got a set of wheels in May and two of the five needed to be sent back to be rechromed because they had problems. I still do not have them. My sales person keeps telling me 7 days or a couple day or tomorrow and then I don't here from the guy and I end up calling them to find out where my wheels are only to find out they have not sent them. It really angers me when I call and they tell me two days and two weeks later I have not heard from them and end up calling. I would not recommend using specialty wheels.

Thanks for the response, guys. I realize that Wheel Vintiques is pretty much the Heinz of repro Buick rallyes. I thought, however, that other retailers might be inline before Year One as some people on this thread got wheels a while back. And hey, it's not like I need them right now as my car is in pieces. I guess philosophically it just bothers me that my money has been taken for seven months with nothing to show. But if no one recently is getting wheels, it makes sense to hold my place in line with Y1. My car won't be done in September.

    Thanks again. :TU:

As an update, Y1 credited my card about a month or two ago without letting me know they were going to. I guess they took it upon themselves to cancel my order.

    Now I am nowhere!

    Ken,
Last month there was a group purchase for 15x7 and 15x8 wheels to be manufactured in January. I'm not sure if there's anyway to add to the order or not, but you may want to inquire. The thread is on "The Bench" and may be back a few pages.
