Hello, I'm new, and will be reading as many of the existing posts as possible to avoid repeating questions... Glad there are such groups !! Thanks to all for the sharing of knowledge and info. I just picked up a clean (as far as rust goes) 1962 Electra 225 convertible. It does however, need a complete resto. I was happy to find the original build sheet and window sticker along with the owners manual, and a few other goodies. This car will be awesome ! It has many additional options like A/C, power vent windows, 6x2 power seat, rear seat speaker, trunk mat, compass, tissue holder, seat belt set, Wonderbar radio....and more !! $ 5446.09 is what she sold for new from Butlin Buick in Reseda, CA. Needless to say I am WAAAAY stoked about the car and hope to have her cruisin' again by next summer !! I will be photographing and documenting all the work and will eventually put up a website for that. Thanks again !! Joe Vegas
Kinda...LOL.... was originally a white car, with deluxe blue interior. No big deal as it will get completely stripped and refinished. Joe
Joe, The really cool factor of your car is that it is very hard to find one of the 62's in that condition! Good luck with your restoration and keep us posted, and your wallet open!!:TU:
Absolutely ! The fact that there is NO rust- I checked the floors, doors, rockers, trunk, fender lips, battery tray...everywhere...and the only piece of trim missing is one headlight ring ! Still plenty of work to do, but what a great base to start with !! Check out this shot of the pass. side door hinge area......
and here is what i did today for 5 hours. sandblaster and put some por 15 on the frame. its for my 65 super wildcat. keep us posted. and if you need parts for that buick this forum is the place to be.
Cool.....I see I am definately not alone !! Looks like a good project off to a good start ! and Red, that looks like one serious ride !!! - Joe
