New points and condensor...

    :Do No: got my dwell set too 28 degrees...thats where it should be right? now i can set my timing...?

    Points get set first. Then timing. Actually I would go with 30 on the dwell since that is the median of the recommended setting allowance.

    okay, yeah i got my points set, then i got my timing set, now im going to tune my air/fuel and my idle...thanks

    okay. its all done...why when i go to turn off my car (in park) that it wants to run " backwards"? turning it off in D or R its fine... :blast:

    Sounds like either the timing is not correct yet, or maybe you need to step up a grade in octane. Are you running 87? Does the car make a pinging noise under load (heavy acceleration)? What do you have the timing set at?

    While in gear the idle will be lower than in park . After you made your timing and dwell adjustments , you adjust the air and fuel on the carb. and last you have to re adjust the idle on the carb.

    Sounds like it may be idling too fast . Check and adjust to specs .
