Was just getting some things at Harbor Freight and noticed a
parts washer I was looking to buy 2-3 months ago for $99 is now
on sale for $69. Darn thing followed me home! Can't beat that
price. Here is the link to the website but I believe it to be an in-store special only!

Well, I have been using my "el cheapo" cleaner set up (1 gallon mineral spirits in a 5 gallon plastic bucket) That got old real fast.

Read instructions on new parts washer, states "using petroleum based products will shorten pump lifespan" Larger sticker on lid states "Using Mineral Spirits will shorten pump lifespan"

I like to use Castrol Super Clean or Coastal Purple Power which are all basically the same; NaOH, lye, or oven cleaner. I plan to use Purple Power full strength for my application. Cost at AutoZone is $4/gallon. I usually use it in a spray bottle to degrease engines, trans, suspension parts. Works great!

Does your pump friendly degreaser smell bad? Once you pour it in the machine, I imagine the garage will smell.:Do No:

Purple Power smells like lime juice to me. I use it all the time.

I am going to Home Depot and getting some casters for it so I can roll it outside and use it there. Less mess and less odors if any materialize.
