well, as far as introductions go, my name is Byron. i live north of the DFW area. im 20 years (21 in a few days) old and am currently going to school to become a photographer.

im no noob when it comes to cars in general, or online car forums for that matter. i own a DSM and thats been my primary fun toy for the last 3 years, but a few months ago i decided to take on another project. carb'd V8's are, however, something im very new too. you have to understand, im used to EFI hi revving 4 bangers  my grandpa has a 4-door 1964 buick electra 225 with the 401 nailhead. baby blue with a white top. it hasnt been driven since the late 70's (if it was even driven that long) and has been sitting in a barn ever since with 35K origional miles. the entire car inside and out is in pristene condition with the single exception of the headliner, visor, and c-pillar fabric. no rips in the seats, no chips or dents in the paint. i noticed it sitting in his barn some 1-2 years ago, and recently made a deal to take it off his hands. we got the engine started with little effort and the engine still has plenty of life left in her. immediate tasks will be a carb rebuild and full engine tune up. ill be going down in a couple weeks to get it. glad to have found this forum...thanks for having me :beer :3gears:

Welcome Byron. Im also recently new to the board, and Buicks. These members know their Buicks. It seems like every time I use my search engine for technical information on my cars, it directs me right back to this web site.

wow, thanks for the warm welcome guys...looking foward to spending many hours here reading all i can. pics will definately be up when i get her home and cleaned up...so no worries there.

im sorta in a delima right now as far as the engine bay. the exterior and interior will stay in stock trim...no modifications there...but the bay is another story. im debating on wheather to keep everything basically stock under the hood, or wheather i should tinker a bit with some aftermarket goodies. nothing too drastic mind you...maybe some polished valve covers, possibly dual carb setup, etc. so im either looking at a fully origional car, or an origional with some bling under the hood. the stock quiet exhaust is also going...something tastefully loud will be in order
