From the Nostalgia Nationals "The Beaver was Full!" Take that, Rusty. An LV pic that you don't have! :moonu:
Yeah, but the guy could have done better on the clone! The Gold is all wrong and look at the gap between the scoop and the hood!!!!!ou: Hope you had a good time there! Wished I was there!!!:Brow: :TU:
Only Rusty would notice the car. Let me make this easier for the rest of us. Personally, I have no problem at all with this gold, and the "gap" is almost visible. You really missed a good one! Hodges was low qualifier in the first round of qualifications. :beers2:
JEA, She was at the St Ignace show the week before, too. I was hoping they'd have the big shifter handle there. Did you get your convertible done in time for OCA? Good luck and get that 1st place! :TU:
I got a signed poster from LV, the one and only time I went to St. Ignace in '97! It says "You can shift my 4-speed, anytime" and signed, LV! When I told her I have 2 Buicks with Hurst Shifters, what a great gal!
Berta.. They had a class there called Pro Stick. My brother Rick bought me one of their Tee shirts that I love: "REAL RACE CARS HAVE CLUTCHES" LV really is a classic.
I was matched against a beautiful 455 Judge from Lewisburg, Pa. Very close to Beaver Springs racetrack where it was held. Great guy, may even be on here (tripleblackrag (?)) (Todd Kozak). I'll see if he knows anything. It's some sort of club, and I got the impression it had something to do with that track. BTW, here's another pic of that beautiful 57 Ford:
If my memory serves me correct, that would be 1964 for the above photo (wasn't the first Daytona in 1959?). Before LV was Miss Pure Oil. I will take the early model please!:Brow:
Sorry, Frank, I didn't. This pic came from the Beaver Springs Website, maybe some mention there or a lead to it. Try contacting the track through the website and they could probably tell you or lead you in the right direction. I'm trying to find out more about this Pro Stick club as they had other memorabilia there, too. License plates, window decals, etc. Doubtful it had anything like: "Real OLD race cars have 3 on the tree, though." :moonu: There were lots of gassers there like that, I only have pics of a few. It was unbearably hot, so didn't do much wandering around and socializing, just amongst ourselves.
Why does it seem like I'm always the one throwin' cold water on stuff? Like Rusty et al., I'm really fond of the vintage pic's of LV, JP and the others. But there comes a time in your life when you have to acquire some modesty: Those recent posed shots... man, sorry but that's just someone else's grandma now!uzzled:
I would've been lusting after Linda's topography even more in 1964 than now. I was still nursing then. :Brow:
