I will be straight forward with you gents. I do not currently own a Buick nor intend to, but I am a big GM engine fan. I am a current senior member on the ZR2.com board (4x4 enthusist) and I have few questions regarding some heads that are in my possesion.
These heads were given to me by a friend in Detroit recently. He said they where his fathers and didn't know what they goto, heck he didn't even know what they were. So to fullfill my need for random stuff, he gave them to me. But for the past couple of months I have drawn a blank as to what exactly they are for. I have check numberous GM web sites for casting numbers and still nothing matches up. But someone told me a rumor that they are for a Buick 455c.i. 74'-75' V-8 (obviously) casting number MP1241860.
If anyone can help that would be great. I currently do not have any use for them.......I am just trying to gain more info so I know what to do with them. Anywho here are few pics of them and a link to the . Album

Again thank in advance for any help...
Sorry for the shamless plug time.

    So the rumor is true.
Is there any mod you can do to them, or is just easier to get light bigger after market heads ? Or port them out. To me I would assume that they are just as you said " Production Heads"
With little to no use for them. Gezz the wieght a ton.
Well thanks for the info !!!

Hottest thing out are the TA Performance aluminum heads which out of the box flow like some of the best ported iron heads for a lot less $$. By the time your heads were made they had gone to a low compression smog configuration. The best factory 455 iron heads were 70 and 71.
