Hi, everyone, Im Denver, and I'm 17 years old (don't hate me 'cause im young). I started talking to Rich, AKA monsterbuick462 and he told me to sign up to the forum. My dad owns 2 buicks (both in non-running condition) One's a 1970 GS 350, and the other is a 1970 GS 455 stage 1. It's a shame, and such a waste of a great car. He's not really interested in restoring them, but my mom and i have been tossing around ideas, but we dont really have time/space/money to do it, nevermind the know-how. I dont really know too much about Buicks, but I am willing to learn. I hope to stay for a while, and learn something. See you guys around.
Denver glad you took my advise lol.....i'm sure when the time comes guys from the surrounding area probably would spend a weekend with ya we all try to help each other guys from the Conn. area are ya listening?? he is a good kid just needs some guidance dosen't make alot of cash but wants a nice ride!! he thinks there may be frame issues so if anyone isn't busy on a fine new england weekend maybe someone can offer a hand??? thanx in advance Rich Martel 70 GS 455 BPG#1599
Hey Mr. Bill- Welcome to the board! Sounds like your dad has some nice cars there. Mine was in storage for 20 years and I got it going with the help of all the great guys here. Where abouts in Ct are you? I'm in Fairfield.
Well, I live in East Lyme, It's near Waterford and old saybrook etc. Right near the shore. I work at a Ford dealership, and I could get some real good information from the guys in the shop. I can even bring the Buick over (on a flatbed) and put it up on one of the lifts im sure if i needed to. To check out the frame at least. And there is also a body shop in the same building (not affiliated with the dealer) so i can get alot of help there. The only problem is taking the time and money and the initiative to do it. And I know i couldn't do it myself because of money issues and knowledge issues for that matter. The car isn't exactly "in storage" either. It's sitting in the driveway, there used to be a tarp over it, but that rotted away. We'll see what happens...in the meantime...(add some cool saying that fits the topic here)
