What's goin' on guy's? Well I got bit by the Buick bug again! Had a '72 Skylark 5 years ago but lost it in a divorce:af: ,went to the "Autorama" show 2 weeks back and saw a yellow '70 GS,here we go again!! Anyways what I'm looking at is a 72 Skylark(from another board member) that I want to build a GS clone with. Been doing a lot of research on 455 builds(500+hp),but what year block/heads should I be looking for? I hear 70-72 for the casting, but also that these years have the weaker oiling systems:Do No: ..also does anyone know where to get the GS parts I need(hood, grill, buckets, console, etc.) Is there a dealer/yard that has this stuff or am I at the mercy of someone selling their stuff. Seen new fiberglass hoods but.........I don't know about goin' that route, anyone using one? Well share your knowledge guy's...thanks in advance..:TU:

Also......is the '72 gs hood and grill interchangeable with another year,or are they specific for that year? I've seen that the 70 and 71 grills are different, but unsure about the 72's. Console has gotta be the same though right?

Are you talking about the grilles on the hood ram air inlets or the front grille on the car? There were differences among them. For example I think a spring was added near the front in 71 that was not present in 70.
