For sale is a set of eight big block Buick (400, 430, 455) I-beam 4340 steel connecting rods, manufactured by Manley, with 12 point 7/16" bolts from ARP. I purchased these from TA Performance as part number TA1632 in 2007. List price according to their catalog now is $1425. This is a "matched" set, big and small ends have already been equalized. Still in the boxes, never run. If you're looking for an indestructible connecting rod, these will do just fine. These are bushed for a floating pin, so if you need a pressed-pin setup, see your machinist, not a big deal to convert. Price is $700.00 plus shipping. I'm at 48038. Devon
Put me in line and I'll check back at lunch time (or so!). It's time for the turbo engine to grow up!
Wow, that was fast! If you need more info in regards to the actual weights as recorded by Manley, let me know. Devon
I decided to check the board before I left work last night. Usually 10 people have replied before I see a thread with something I'm interested in for sale! PM sent.
Sorry for the late update John, sale is pending to Alan. I'll let you know if for any reason the rods become available, but the check is already in the mail and I expect everything to go smoothly. Devon
Devon... thanks for the reply!!! Alan, if you decide that going with aluminum rods are better then please let me know of you want to sell this set of rods!!!
Alan, per my Private Message I sent, I received your check today, thanks very much! And if you'd like to sell these rods to John or anyone else and make a profit yourself, go for it! I'm not one of the whiners who complains after seeing parts I sold sell for more later. I set my price and that's it for me, that's all there is to it. The important thing is that these parts will get used by someone rather than sitting on my shelf, and you are helping me afford other things I'm doing here. Devon
I think these will do what I want for now. I'm looking to build a beefed up streetable bottom end that can handle 800+ boosted horsepower. I'll keep you in mind if things change, though.
