Hi Welcome from the south of Sweden. I really do like that car. It's rather nice to drive to a car meet, were no one has the same car as you. Iv'e done it. They don't have a clue. :bglasses: I might drop in for a Swedish "fika" if I ever go to the Power meet in Vsters. It's a bit to far. About 300 US miles. One way. Nice to see another "Swed" on the forum. Note: "Fika" is when you just dropp by, and have a cup of coffe, maybe some biscuits, and have chatt. Ola Idh Vxj
Spent a couple of hours in the garage today.Pulled out the rear seat and found a speaker laying loose on the passenger side just beside the top motor. There is a blue cable under the floor mat insulation and we wonder, can this be an original speaker from the factory? And back in the day,did people order 1 or 2 speakers in the rear?
The 68 Buick wholesale order form shows that UPC code U80 (rear seat speaker) was available as an option. So one rear speaker was an option.
Thank you very much. There is a number on the back of the speaker, gonna check with my Chassis Service Manual.
Looked at the rear speaker today and the nr is: 7300614.Can`t find it in the book Delco Radio Service Manual from 1968. Assume that`s the wrong speaker in the car?
When you say "the wrong speaker" all that is important is that it is the correct impedance for performance and correct shape for mounting. I think the factory generally specified these Delcos at 10 ohms impedance. However, with the correct frequency input, they actually measure to be 8 ohms. I know for 70 models they attached to the back of the rear seat on convertibles. If you need a correct speaker, ask some 68 convert owners here to chime in or contact www.turnswitch.com.
Says 10 ohm on the speaker. We are not gonna use this speaker.Just curious if it could be the factory one. Also looked at the radio and it is a AM/FM.
Take a look to see if this could be hardware that you need. I am not sure. http://www.ebay.ca/itm/64-72-Conver...ing-Hardware-Bolt-Screw-Nut-1pc-/190814059468
