Hi, long time Buick lover, longer time roadster lover. Presently running a 462" powered 32 roadster and have another Buick powered roadster under construction. So far, looks like an interesting board. Jay
Here's the 32. Mildly built 462 incher, mild Crower cam, forged 9/1 pistons, 3.70 gears, 2400#, T-400 and a bunch of Kenne-Bell stuff. Runs on 87 octane winter and summer (100 F. + days now and then)
Here's the almost completed 31 on 32 frame rails roadster. (Very traditional way to build a roadster, but a lotta work.) 462" Buick, dual quad 500 cfm Carters on an Offenhauser medium riser intake, bigger cam than the 32, either a K-B or Crower, probably run the Crower, I liked how it ran in the 32. Usual hop-up stuff, little more compression, around 10/1, T-400 and probably 2200# overall when done. Right now the car needs engine and trans build, plumbing, wiring and paint to get on the street. Interesting part about both of these cars is that I've never seen a late Buick in a roadster. Course, Buick guys are the different drummer group and all that....
Cool cars Jay :TU: :TU: :TU: We have a very nice '34 All Steel Four Window (okay, it's not a Roadster) here in the Netherlands, with a blown 231 CI Buick V6. <img src="http://www.chevythierry.com/images/2003/20030928-Sunday-Cruisers-Groningen/images/KR8Groningen004.jpg"> <img src="http://www.chevythierry.com/images/2003/20030928-Sunday-Cruisers-Groningen/images/KR8Groningen017.jpg">
And here's the 31 with the dual quad intake. The firewall recess will have to be widened so the big Buick has a touch more room. It just barely squeaks in with the stock rocker covers and I know it won't fit with the TA covers that are going on it. Not to mention a little room for the engine to rock, although the motor mounts on it - and the 32 - don't allow much rocking at all.
Very nice 34 Erik. Somewhat traditionally done. Some of the 33-34's here in the state are overly slick and once they get the usual SBC (Small Block Chevy) covered up there's not much to see. Here's a car belonging to a couple of guys - brothers - that I call the Buick Brothers. 57 Century, dual quad 425 Nailhead, 9" Ford rear on leaf springs, fuel cell in back, Corvette disc brakes in front with Corvetter master cylinder, beautiful white tuck and roll which is very close to the Tijuana tuck and roll we used to get in the late 50's, early 60's. Funny short story about this car is they kept saying they were gonna make the Saturday night rod run, kept having delays and I never did see it around town. Couple of months later, I'm running north up the freeway from Lake Havasu, California headed for Laughlin, Nevada (about 450 miles from home), glance over at a fire engine red 57 Buick heading south, clippin off about 80 per and it's the Buick Brothers. Kinda funny that they didn't make the in town stuff 6 miles away and here they were sailing down a desert freeway toward the sorta famous River Run. (Colorado River)
