Hey everyone. I'm a new guy from Kittanning, Pennsylvania, which is about 40 miles North of Pittsburgh. I have a 1963 Electra 225 which is what led me to this forum. I got the Electra when I was 15 (now 18, almost 19). The great thing is the car only has 53,000 miles on it and I got if for free! The guy had had the car since 1990 and wrecked while driving drunk one night. Unfortunately, a lady was killed in the wreck, so the guy went to jail for two years, during these years the car sat outside. When the guy got out of jail, he stripped the car of all its trim, BUICK lettering, and the two front interior door panels, which he placed in the trunk (I think he was drunk again when he did this), the trunk filled with water and that pretty much ruined everything in there. He also stripped the paint off only the hood, roof, and trunklid and decided that he would never do anything with the car, so he planned on putting it in the local demo derby, since the 401 still ran like it was brand new. This is when I came in to the picture, and rescued the car, he figured that since he wasn't going to get paid to smash it, he shouldnt get paid to give it away, so all I had to pay for was the title transfer and the towing. When the car got to my house it was a mess, I started by unhooking the fuel line from the pump to the tank and running the line off of the pump straight into a gas can, and wouldn't you know it, it started right up and purred like a kitten, so I completley redid the brake system, rebuilt the carburetor, and that brings me to where I am now. The interior is prety good, good enough for a daily driver playtoy, not for show, so all I need to get done is some body work and paint. The driver's side front fender is pretty bad, I would consider just buying a new one if I could find one. And there are a few holes in the frame that need to be patched, throw a coat of paint on and motor down the road.
I think this site is awesome, I really enjoy reading about the stupid ricers, I am currently going to WyoTech in Blairsville, PA to be a mechanic and when I leave all I see is ricers flyin all around me, I hate it and can't wait untill I can drive a real car to school. (I have a 93 S10 as my daily driver and an 85 Pontiac Fiero which I absolutely love and I hate it when people call it a "rice burner", you would be amazed at the amount of people that think its an import!) I look forward to talkin with you guys on here and getting my Buick lookin good enough to put a pic on here.

    Welcome aboard Adam:beer

Those Electras are getting scarce and need somebody to look after them!

I'm much more into the A body (Skylark and GS) models so I'm of small help to you technically on your particular Buick, but try posting a list of things you need in the "parts wanted" forum, and check out the "parts for sale" forum, too.

Also look into getting a copy of Hemmings Motor News. They are also online at www.Hemmingsmotornews.com

hey everyone, thanks for your replies, I will get some pictures up as soon as I get a chance. I saw that 2-door on eBay, I would buy it and probably use the one I got now as a donor, I like 2-door better plus it looks in better shape, anyway, I don't even have enough money to buy a new fender for mine, thats all I really need and I could get some body and paint work done then drive her down the road, but the time will come. I think when I go home from school today if its nor raining I will start her up and dort of winterize some stuff before it gets too cold, I'll take pics then and get them on here. Thanks a lot.
