There were Buicks made before the GS This is an ALL Buick highboy. Well, ok the a portion of the frame is '28 Chevy, the alt is an early 60's Chry the steering box is a Pontiac Astre, the connecting rods are 389 Pontiac superduty and the front spindles are '49 Chevy, but other than that ALL Buick. 1922 Buick model 44 Roadster body. Motor 1965 401 Tranny 1965 Buick ST400 Rear 1972 Buick GS Front brakes 1948 Roadmaster All brake drums 1962 Full size Buick finned aluminum Steering wheel 1932 Buick Steering column drop 1930 Buick Tail lamps 1953 Buick The rest is genuine hot rod ingenuity.

Martin, is that the car with the before and after pics? I saw pics of a '20's Buick roadster that looked like it was lying in pieces in a bush that someone rebuilt into a rod, and it looked a lot like yours. Beautiful car!

Bill, no, it is far from just picking parts lying around the shop. It is my brothers car by the way. He is very good at making things "just right". I believe he spent more time planning than we did building. Every part was painstakenly chosen and found. For instance there were three sets of new springs on the front and three sets of new tires before the car even rolled. He needed JUST the look he was after, not close, but JUST the look. I have some pictures of the frame I will have to scan them to post. The frame started with a pair of '28 Chevy rails. What is left is the rails from the front tips to about the front of the rear tire. They were straight from the factory, we bent them to match the body. We then made all cross members, and rear of the rails out of tubing. The rails were fully boxed also. Dan, yes this is the one. Thanks guys for the good words. Yes, it is a beautiful car, I am proud of my brothers intuitive plans on what the car should look like.
