    New to me, at least.

I am selling my kid's Camaro and got this note:

    Hello,
    My name is John Adam.
I am interested in your item. The problem is that I am a very confused as I've seen another item very similar to yours.
    Please, have a look:
    cgi.ebay.com.motorslisting.ssl.verification.listapi.com/safebrowsing/cgi.bin/update/index.php?motors.listings.ebay.com/Cars-Trucks_W0QQa10239ZQ2d24QQa10244ZQ2d24QQa38v1yZQQa38v2yZQQa39ZQ2d24QQa39705ZQ2d24QQa

If you do plug the address into your browser then you come to another Ebay signon screen, asking for your ID and password. DON'T DO IT. This is the scammers attempt to get ahold of your password.

If you have already done that immediately change your Ebay password and changing your PayPal password probably isn't a bad idea.

I reported it to spoof@ebay.com and also sent a note to the victim (who seemed to appreciate being let into the loop).

I have received this same message twice now (different fake names and different victims).

    K

    Same clown again?

Hey Keith: Check out item #190070525321 (yellow 1986 Buick Regal) on E-Bay. Some guy named, David Pat is asking him (the seller) the exact same question the clown you were dealing with on your son's Camaro asked you (word by word). Looks like the same guy to me with a different (phoney) name? :blast:

These guys must think we are pretty stupid (I mean it's understandable the first time but THREE times? I don't think so...).

I am pleased with the response from Ebay, though: I got a note back from a real person asking for more detail.

By the way, the Camaro sold for about $400 more than my wildest expectations....to a guy about 2 miles from my house.

    Advise this guy?

I sent an E-mail to the guy with the Regal advising him to be careful with this guy. You might want to do the same as you know more about this scam than I do. I'm sure he would appreciate it. He does have a nice Regal for sale doesn't he?

    Clown at it again

Was going through the project cars on E-bay today and guess what? That clown is at it again. This time its a 36 or 37 Olds sedan. I E-mailed the owner to advise him. I'm on a mission now, I wish I could get my 60 year old hands on him.
