I was just looking through the feb issue of car craft and ran across an article about comps new bee hive valve springs. the first time I saw these they were on the ls1 motors. Now comps improved or beefed up the spring for big block use. I have a fairly fresh set of iron heads that were ported by Scotty G. I was planning on using the valves and springs to put in some of the new aluminum heads to save money. My question is do you think I could get the same results they got from the chevy 454 from our buick motors. this is the article. www.carcraft.com/techarticles/116_0402_spring/index2.html and here is a picture of the spring. www.compcams.com/Information/WhatsNew/Files/26120-Behive-Springs.jpg
Ok, let me adress this question to Jim W. Do you think that comps new valve springs can give you 20 hp and 26 lb of torque over what T A is offering??
Welp, when they make a 1.385 od version of this spring, I certainly will be giving it a try. Would be a flat tappet deal only, way too much pressure for hyd cams.. JW
