I've got a dumb question...I'm replacing bearings in my differential and I marked the new carrier bearings with their matching races as they came in the rebuild kit. Problem is I pressed the new bearings on the carrier and my mark was on the side against the carrier so now I can't match them to their races. Does this matter for new bearings/races or is it only important if I were re-using the old bearings and races?
New bearings should not be matched to races. Make sure ID number for bearings or races are the same first as some carriers have different size bearings on each side.
