    skitzofrenic66 What's an Import?

i just got a digital camera and i tell ya, it awesome!! 3.2 megapixels for $80 at wal-mart, had to nab it! here are a few pics of my car when i got home, ill get some good shots as soon as the weather picks up a bit. keep in mind this car is nearly the same shape as when i got it and is very much a project in the making.

one thing ive found so far is ever picture i upload from the camera is over 2000 pixels. i think 500 is best for posts, is there any way i can make them smaller automatically to save myself from resizing them all?

engine, notice how clean it is! :Brow: car has about 95,xxx on the odometer and who knows if thats even right. yes, i did flip the air filter lid just to see if it made a difference. truth is this car is sitting due to my low budget so i havent worried about doing anything to clean it all up.

    Camara?

What kind of camara did you get from Wal-Mart? I have been looking at Sony because I have a Sony camcorder and an extra memory stick for the still shot part. But the resolution is low and I want a smaller 3.2 megapixal (or so) camara. The Sony I want is about $250 to $300. But if I can get something like you have that would be cheaper than a Sony and better Quality than what I have now.

    Thanks

It's usually in the camera's options under "detail" or "size". Mine can be set between 4 sizes (super fine- 2200x2800 down to less detail- 600x800).

bruce those pics were snapped just as the car sat, you will see some really good ones when i get off my butt and take her out someplace nice. scene scape is everything, you know!:beer here is another pic i snapped off after work, i love this new camera.

jimmy the camera is a kodak easy share cx4310. i saw a lot of really great deals but i settled on this one. 3.2 mp does a good job!

yeah, that 3.2 megapixal really shows off the paint chips  [sorry, just digging at you] what software comes with it? does it look pretty user friendly? i see the wallyworld here has a similar deal. i got a cheapo $60 1.3 about a year or so ago [technology is moving pretty fast with cameras] and have been using that for a lot of stuff. took a road trip today and got some pics of the mission mountains north of here with it.

a better camera would of handled the differences in light and dark better. but if i tinker with the software a little they come out a little better. this is my car from this morning. the paint chips hardly show at all:Dou:

nice car rob! the paint on my car is pathetic. it was originally a seamist green kind of color with a black vinyl top, but someone stripped it and slapped on the $50 paint it has now. its chipped all over the place and is really thin. gotta love the over spray on most of the chrome also, ive scrubbed a lot off. the camera comes with a cheesy little program for editing called easy share but i havent messed with it much because i have photoshop. the camera is very user friendly which is nice for me cause i just like to point and click, one day im going to get the car painted red with a satin black stage 2 scoop and maybe some GSX stripes down the side. thats my dream.

Nice shots, especially for 80 bucks.

This was taken with my 120 dollar refurbished Fuji FinePix 2800Z

High Peaks of the Adirondacks... taken directly into the sun, kinda bad color handling but I like it that way anyway

The images were just resized in a Photo editing program...

So yah, its 2.0 Megapixels and does a decent job.
You can see SOME spotty artifacts in the sky shots, but what do you expect... its 2 MP!

Re: Hope you dont mind Rob

love it. i have actually visualized that after seeing so many mid 70s el caminos. but i think a station wagon format would work better. but you never know. a chain saw and some plywood, a little permatex.....
