Pardon my ignorance but what is this Buick I keep seeing on a tv commercial racing around a banked track with the fella dressed up as a detective? It's suppost to have a 240HP V-6 I think? Unfortunately I'm guessing it's front wheel drive. Anyone know more about this car?

Thanks Freedster. Sure wish it was a rear wheel drive platform. More of the cars coming out are going back to rear wheel drive. Don't know why Buick has to stay in the past.

Probably just because it's cheaper. Pontiac, Buick, Olds and Chevy all share the same basic engine and transmission on most of their front-drive cars. It's just cheaper to build them all the same way.

"we're going to move more upscale with more emphasis on interiors and interior roominess because Cadillac is moving more upscale and that creates a wider gap between Buick and Cadillac."

I'd say a wide gap. Cadillac has performance and style. Buick has ugly and down-trodden. WAKE-UP MAN!!! That Adams guy has to go. Isn't he the guy that said the turbo-Regal/GN didn't belong in the Buick line-up?

I wonder what the average age of a turbo-regal purchaser was?

    Hey John,

Theh car you see runing in the banked turns is "Regal GS". They have been putting out 240 supercharged horsepower for quite a few years now.

Rich, The commercial doesn't really show the car that well, and for whatever reason they are giving the car a lot of hype. I thought maybe Buick was doing something different for a change. I guess everything is the same but the advertising. ( and the glasses I need to get!) John:)
