Ahh, I see they revised there due date. They also lowered the cumbustion chamber size by 10 cc. I don't know much about them, but the flow numbers seem real good out of the box if they actually flow that well. Also, alot of Caddy owners have been giving alot of praise to Bulldog regarding their Caddy heads. From what I have read they seem like a good product.
I read on the GSCA board that Edlebrock might also get into the head game for Buicks, along with a single plane "Victor" type intake. I'm not sure if all these choices are a good thing for our rather small community, but having options is always nice.

They would be nice options for Buick big blocks.

I guess options are good, but my next set of aluminum heads will come from TA Performance irregardless. TA has been investing in performance and aftermarket parts for our Buicks for a loooong time. Funny how others jump in when they, apparently all of the sudden, see some demand............

I think I'll stick with the one who brought us to the party.

Well I agree that it's nice that TA has stuck with us Buick guys, but if somebody comes around and builds a better product I certainly wouldn't hesitate to purchase it regardless of how long they have been involved with Buicks. It is this same competition and evolution from TA that basically knocked Kenne Bell out of the Buick business. If someone ever dethrones TA it will happen because they were able to provide us with something better.

Democracy, capitalism, free market, competition, free trade, etc. are what make this country great.

TA serves us better than anyone in the Buick business ever has.

That being said, good competion keeps everybody on their toes.

Edelbrock had better do more than they did for the Pontiac and Olds guys, which was essentially to deliver a light-weight stock replacement head.

To reiterate what Cole and Adam have already pointed out, TA is in it for the "long haul" and reinvests a lot of their money into new Buick products.

Competition is good in many circumstances, but consider what will happen if Edelbrock puts TA out of business. Then, shortly afterward, Edelbrock decides that the Buick market is unprofitable. That sucks for all of us.

I will stand behind the vendors who stand behind us.

It is highly unlikely that Edelbrock will ever make BB Buick heads. And if they did, they would likely be aluminum reproductions of stock heads...maybe Stage 1.

It will be a cold day in you-know-where when Edelbrock makes a high performance head like the Stage 2. And even if they did, I would still probably get mine from TA. Unless they were WAY cheap and performed and lasted better than TA.

This just aint gonna happen....and who cares!! The Buick vendors actually have a stake in and care about our particular choice of vehicles.

If you want to be a nameless number, and have a vast array of cheap parts to choose from...get a Chevy or a Ford. :Smarty:

I wasn't talking about Edelbrock as I doubt they will ever get into Buicks to the extent they could hurt TA's business. They have sold intakes for 35 years for the big block and I don't see TA's intake sales suffering because of it.

Bulldog on the other hand is a small company that has made some very good parts for other makes and seems pretty committed to Buicks considering they have co-produced a new block, and are releasing a set of heads. There has been rumors that other parts are to follow. To put that kind of research in takes time and money, so I would say that it doesn't seem like they are in it for the short haul.

Kenne Bell was really committed to the Buick world back in the old days and that didn't stop everyone from abandoning them to go to TA and Postons. Thats capitalism. If a better product is made, people buy it, thats the way the business world works.

I definately agree that Bulldog is going to be a welcome addition to our little world. I am very interested to see what they are going to bring to the table. Competition (and variety) is definately a good thing.

I know Vic has some deep pockets......but, he couldn't put TA out of business if he TRIED!!:Smarty:

Edelbrock should worry more about fixing some of the screwed up heads they are selling now!!:blast: Any of you guys see some of the ports on some of the non-Chevy stuff?? I saw some SB Mopar heads.....really makes ya shake your head.:Dou: The Pontiac & Olds heads require EXTENSIVE work to make serious power!!

I'd be embarrassed to put out some of the stuff they do. Don't get me wrong....it's not all junk, but very little of it seems to be really exceptional stuff. The competition is tough out there......AFR, Canfield, etc. build MUCH better heads than Edelbrock!!!:TU:

The only product I could actually want to see from Edelbrock would be a SBB or BBB Performer RPM type intake. A SBB Victor JR. intake would be pretty nice too. As long as they actually do their homework, get in touch with honest to goodness Buick engine builders, and see what our engines really need!!!:Smarty:
