I sorry to blantantly break a rule by commenting in a for sale, and please let me know if you want it deleted as I'll gladly do so, but... Ethan's spot on. This is the short block I so badly want to build for the green car. A true street strip piece verbatim! I've been salivating at this thread since the day it was listed! You'd better believe if I could rustle up the cash it'd already be bought. Good luck with the sale, I'm SHOCKED this hasn't been snapped up yet.
Thanks for the comment SRiley531, I'm shocked somebody hasn't bought this yet. A great foundation for a hot street/strip or full race combo.
Wow. The 12 to 1 has me pretty scared. My driving is 99% street. Im looking for more n the 10 to 10.5 range. This sounds like an amazing build. And I'm surprised as well it hasn't already sold.
If you want a 482 identical new build except with compression in the range you're looking for see my parts for sale ad some 6-8 weeks ago.same machine shop.
With aluminum heads and cam with enough overlap, even with static compression near 12 you can get the dynamic compression down enough to be pump gas friendly
My iron-headed engine is 11:98:1,and I run it on 93 without any issues. I do mix it 50/50 for the track though. Aluminum heads would be even better. This is a great foundation to start with.
TTT...if anyone has a reasonable offer please pm me. I can deliver to BG and can assist with shipping as well. You can’t build it for this guaranteed and no stone was left unturned on this short block.
TTT...I’ll include a thicker head gasket of your choice for the guys that want to knock down the compression. Later on if you decide to bump up the compression all you have to do is change the head gasket. Somebody needs this!
To many tire kickers and BSers in here Mark. You do that and someone will say the cam's to big,or still to many cubes for my street ride, blah blah blah. You have a well priced 482 that would cost WAY more and take far longer to build. I know,I just built one this year. I'd hold your ground on your price and if someone wants to make changes THEY can do it. This isn't "I'm selling my motor but I'll alter the build to what you really want" just so they can back out. Good luck with the sale and it was nice to see you guys in BG
Yes, but another board member pm’d earlier this week so he has first shot. I should know if he’s going to take by tomorrow or Monday.
Good luck with the sale Mark. If yours sell I have a near identical one that can be more streetable if desired. I have dyno sheets of one we just completed making 630hp and totally streetable.
