I took a side trip up to Indy during the nats to meet with Dick Bradshaw to see how things were going.
I got to see, touch, fondle and handle the new 455 head he is doing.
It looks pretty good, it will have 70 cc chambers. The prelim flow numbers look very good as well with 290 cfm on the intake and 225 on the exhaust with a very basic valve job and a very rough carbide only clean-up.
I believe these heads are going to do very well. I expect mid 300 cfm range on the intake to be pretty easy and mid 250plus on the exhaust.
The block patterns were at the foudry when I was up there so there was nothing for me to photograph.
His production cady, olds and mopar heads look very nice, so I know the Buick will be everybit as nice. Jim Burek P.A.E. ENTERPRISES

    Jim,

They look great, any idea on price for a fully assembled, ready to run set?

Thanks for the info and photos.

I thought I would see something along the lines of a Stage-2 exhaust as the new block will max out at 572 CID. What kind of flow is it going to take to keep a 572 engine happy? Are any of the current intake manifolds good enough for a 572, or is Bulldog planning something too?

Fully assembled will be around $1850. with some porting, should be around $2400. Jim Burek

The idea is that if we can get the same exhaust flow out of the stg-1 port as a stg-2 port, why bother with the stg-2?
    573 not 572, chevy has a 572.
Don't worry, there are already things in the works for a killer race head and intake. Jim Burek

"573 not 572, chevy has a 572." Another reason to put a Buick in a Chevy.
    Ha!
One of my "things to do before I die."
All right, more killer heads avaliable.

Jim, How soon could one have a set of these heads? On your site, you have cast iron 455 heads for $1200. How much porting has been done to those heads? Are the pushrod holes enlarged. I am so tired of trying to get these heads on my engine running correctly.

John, I can personally say that if you want awesome port work done, Jim Burek is the man. After getting my engine done from Jim I took the intake off and I was very happy to see the quality of work that was done to them. I believe the stage 1 heads he's advertising flow 280 cfm where the aluminums flow around 300 with alittle work. Between the two you're probably looking at least $1000 difference.
