Hi, I need someone to verify the tooth count for the our 455 starter and flywheel.

I think it's 11 for the starter gear and 168 for the flywheel. Is this right? Don't want to order the wrong thing as I see they have starters for 153 and 168 tooth flywheels (9 tooth and 11 tooth starter gears).

    Thanks.

    Phil

Hmm... I thought the flywheel was 166, though that maybe Pontiac I'm thinking of.

It is the same size as a 153 tooth chevy flywheel

Oops, you're right. It should be a 166 count flexplate.....I think.

Is it stick or auto, the auto flywheel(flexplate) is 153, the stick one is 166. There might be some autos with 166 too, not shure.

My car is an auto with a th400. Flywheel is from T/A and is 166 tooth. I found my original starter (see, it pays to keep that old junk) and it has a 9 tooht gear.
