Hey Mr. 'B', Maybe we could get together sometime and go for a ride in your '67 gs, so I can see first hand how the s/p 400 performs ?? Thanks Kirk

A demo is worth a thousand words with a switch pitch.
I can also explaine how I have mine wired and tell how to wire high stall into the brakes if you want to add that option. An 1100 low stall from PAE would require that.
I can let YOU launch wot at both settings and you will see and feel first hand how much differance it makes.
    My converter is a TH300 (11 inch) with unmodified 2000 & 3000 stall.
Using a high stall S/P will help ET by 2 to 4 tenths over a standard factory converter. Turning it off at the 60 ft will shave another tenth as it helps top end keeps the fluid cooler.
Maby we'll see some sunshine again some weekend. If so, give me a call for some demo runs.

That sounds like fun. I forgot to tell you, I built a 30' x 48' shop here at my home, so stop by sometime and do so bench racing. Thanks Kirk

Gary, I bought the switch pitch kit from PAE. It's an 8 bolt pump but I have a 6 bolt case. Also I don't have the passages to install the orifice cup plug and the case doesn't have the cooler passages either. Can I use this pump on this case? I was talking with a guy from chevelles.com and he says I can use it but I need to put a bolt in one of the pump bolt holes and also run a line from line pressure to the pump with an orifice inplaced in the line. Let me know what I can do or if I need to get a new case, or should I just avoid the trouble and stick with a regular high stall converter. Thanks for your help.

I have no idea about a Turbo 400 with only 6 bolts. I would call PAE and ask for Jim Bureck. He will know the answer, or swap for what you need.
    Good Luck. Gary B.

I talked to Jim and just so anyone who wants to know...yes you can use it on the 6 bolt case. It just needs to be modified.

    What is the modification?

    Drill a hole internally?

Don't know, I sent my pump back to him and he said he would take care of the modification at no cost to me. I'm not going to argue with that cause if I try to do it I'm sure I'll mess something up.
