Hi everybody, I am looking for 1970 Buick GS 455 Stg.1 Front inner fender wells for both the left and right side. does anybody know where i can find them? Thanks Leo
Leo, You might get a better response with a request in the "Parts Wanted" section of this site. Patrick
Do a search on this board for inner fender wells and you should come up with someone who repro's them. Maybe Racebuicks (Mike Garrison) or TPP.
No they are not reproed. There is a patch graft for the front lip. At one time Duane sold some on which he had installed the graft. You will need good used but most have been damaged by corrosion. NOS is the other choice but they would be pricy ven if you found some for sale. There are no stage one specific inner wells. I believe the 70 drivers side might be unique to that year but 70 -72 (both sides) will bolt up.
Any good battery(right) side will set you back a few bucks. Maybe better to fix what you have. Left will be cheaper. Jim the 70-71 drivers side are the same! The 72 is different on the drivers side having a big square dent in the middle.
I went back to look to be sure. It appears the correct answer is that 70 and part of 71 are the same whereas late later 71s and the 72s are the same. http://www.v8buick.com/showthread.php?t=110356&highlight=cruise
fiberglass repro another option if its just the passenger side that is shot,is to order the fiberglass repro from poston,i was afraid at first because of the quality, but when i got it i was jumping up and down.i painted it semi gloss black and unless you went right up to it and tapped on it you wouldnt even know it was fiberglass!!! it looks excellent!!! the guy that does the fiberglass work for poston does excellent work!!!
Jim, there is a thread her somewhere where Duane told George that his info on these was wrong and if any 71's came with the 72 style inner fenders he had never seen one. I have a pretty late 71 and it is the early style as well.
