Well wild kitty, Do You have the stock linkage and kick down sw. still. If so just hook the carb like the factory had it originally and then adjust the kick down sw. rod by pulling the throttle all the way to the rear and using a test light determine at what position the sw. trips. You need it to trip about3/4 of the travel. Then make fine adjustments from there road testing the car in between adj. If You are carefull You can hear and feel the sw. trip .that should get You in the ball park. Doc

    Doc,
On The Edelbrock I am missing the bracket that hits the dash pot. It is a Manual choke carb (the Edelbrock) so do I need the dash pot to be hooked up? I thought that the dash pot was for the choke to kick down the idle when it was warming up? Also The Detent and S/P linkage has no place to hook up to on the Edelbrock
The bracket on the carter is riveted on and I see no place to put it on the new carb ,so I was wondering what the other people have done to connect
    them?.......

    Holley part

I used a Holley linkage part shaped like a U sort of. I will try to take some pics or get the part # -keep bugging me, I got to find my camera! I just moved, my junk is everywhere.

Here is a link to the Holley

    Parthttp://www.holley.com/HiOctn/ProdLine/Products/FMS/FMSCA/20-35.html

Its not a perfect part, I had to bolt it to the throttle linkage on the Edelbrock.
