I recently put a 750 cfm edelbrock 4 barrel on my 340 and am having some problems with it. The other things I did to the car was headers, cutouts, x-pipes and 40 series flowmasters, and a mild cam and new hydraulic lifters. We adjusted the air/fuel and drive it and itll be fine for about an hour then itll start stalling on me when Im in drive and taking off from a light at medium speed. Then yesterday we adjusted how much gas it was getting when it was in drive and it was okay for about 3 hours driving time and now the same thing. Anyone know anything about the edelbrock carbs and troubleshooting like this? Any help is greatly appreciated.
    Thanks

contact a guy on the board called (big riv67). He's pretty good at tuning Edelbrocks.

Hi, I just switched to a Carter 600 cfm AFB which is like the Edlebrock. I had a simular problem, my car would hesitate and stalled from a stop after the car was warmed up. My fuel line and filter was right on the intake maniforld due to the Carter's fuel inlet placement. The fuel was boiling in the fuel filter(see through) when I opened my hood after driving! Since I re-routed the fuel line and made some adjustments it seems fine now. Check for vacuum leaks at the base of the carb with some carb cleaner or wd-40, if it runs rough while you spray you may have a leak. Try to keep that fuel cool if you can, it can cause vapor lock if it starts to perculate in the line in the bowls of the carb. What is your engine temp after driving for a while? Mark

Thanks for your input guys. I'll have to check out my fuel filter and how hot its getting tomorrow, its raining here pretty hard now, poor buick. I'll also check for a vacuum leak. Its around 200-210 after driving it and getting it warmed up. The gauge isnt 100% accurate though because at times it has read extremely wrong temperatures, like one day it said 250, I expected better from aftermarket autogauges. I'll also check the fuel pressure as well, thanks very much guys.
