I'm selling a pr. of 70 455 exhaust manifolds to another Board member. He asked that they be "perfect" when I ship them; IE: bead-blasted, painted, surface-milled flat, new studs installed. Complete and READY to bolt-on AND pretty!

Dang machine shop is charging ALMOST $100, JUST TO BLAST AND SURFACE!! :af: Seems like an AWFUL LOT, huh??

Anyways, obviously I'd like to get re-imbursed for the machine shop tab AND get something out of the manifolds. I already have new studs AND the paint. I'm not worried about or trying to get anything for those. I don't mind painting the manifolds at all (even for free).

What would be a FAIR price to ask from this Board member and not feel like I'm GIVING them away??:Do No:

Jeff, I think you should let the party know that the condition he is requiring for the 30 year old manifold's is going to cost some extra scratch. He can allways get pricing where he is for the same work.

    Good Luck,
    Dana

Dana, actually they are 35! He's well up to speed on any extra expenses and doesn't seem to mind. :Do No: He doesn't seem to have a problem with paying extra to receive the manifolds in EXCELLENT condition and READY to bolt on...

My REAL question is how much are these manifolds REALLY worth in THIS CONDITION?? :Do No:

i second that.. how much are they worth, and are they hard to find to the point that they're worth keeping? my point is i wanna know if they're worth hanging onto in case i may ever need them or are they so common that it doesn't matter?

    Jeff,

You could always just score a few "attaboys" and just give them to the guy. It's only money, and you'll feel real good about doing it. Of course shipping should be paid by the buyer.
    :beer

In all honesty, I would think somewhere in the $250.00 to $300.00 range, and the buyer can paint them what he needs.

As you can see, math was never my strong suit:Dou:
so having said that I'd say they are worth somewhere between $10 and $1,000,000.
You guys hammer it out from there:laugh:

That was only a suggestion for a price, I quess they are worth only what someone is willing to pay.

Jeff, ultimately it is up to you and the buyer to come to an agreement as to what both of you feel comfortable with for the price. Get his telphone number, and take 5 minutes and hammer out a deal. :TU:

lol... if anyone really has a need for them.. say, a concours car or something i'll gladly donate them to the cause if they take me for a drive :) i'm affraid i'll probably never use them anyway. if anyone is interested just PM me and maybe we can work something out... i'm kinda attached to them though lol... rusted pieces of metal... kinda hesitant because i might need them and i'd kick myself if i had them and got rid of them .. *sigh*

    Jeff,

Call me on my cell phone this weekend so we can finnish this. The car will be in the shop getting tweaked while I am away. I want it all finnished b the time I return home. A big part of the process is to replace the headers with stock exhaust, and thats where you come in. Got to hurry though because I leave soon, and where I am going there wont be mail, or cell phones, only tribal drums, and that wont get you paid.
