Does anyone know the part number for the differential gasket on a '65 Wildcat? The parts house sent over RDS30132 which I think is a federal#. It was too small. Anybody have the answer? o No: Thanks Rick
I THINK the '66 opens from the rear and my '65 opens from the front. o No: I'll see what that # turns up. Thanks Rick
That seems to be my luck on this car. I always pick the odd ones. I mean look at my wife. I'm sure you know this but this is the same rear as in a Rivi if that makes a difference in your parts book. Do you have a number for a '65 Rivi or a '64 Wildcat/Electra/Lesabre/Rivi? Thanks Rick
Putting in a posi, Rick? :Brow: Group #5.508 Part #1196018 Gasket, Differential Carrier to Rear Axle Housing Wildcat-Electra-Riviera last time I checked they were only eight bucks each at Classic Buicks. http://www.classicbuicks.com/
Ya can't slip nothin' past the law-man. I'm going with a 3.42. I seem to remember you with something quite a bit steeper than that. Did it ever go in.....and in which one! :3gears: Rick
Take pictures Hey Rick Take pictures of the job......I will need to learn how to do it also. :Smarty: . Don
I've got 3.42's but they aren't posi. Id like to find me one of those for the sedan. I've got those 4.45 gears but they wouldn't work in my 3.07 posi housing. So, I got a 3.90 posi housing that will fit them. Now I can't find a diff shop around here that can set it all up for me. Seems like nobody around these parts understands anything but 12 bolt Chivy and nine inch Furd.
I'm buried in the middle of tax season. I'm paying to have this one done. I R&R'd the motor & tanny and sandblasted, detailed/painted the engine compartment. Detailing the engine bay was about 5x what I thought it would be. The wife said I was either at the office or in the garage. She said "You need to get someone to help you". I'm not sure she meant pay someone, and I didn't ask, but I follow directions pretty well. So, to the shop it goes  I want the mechanicals to be complete for when tax season is over and I can concentrate on the interior. I want it finished by late summer. Robert- Last thing I want is a pic of my wife out here....now the girlfriend, maybe :eek2: That's a joke! Rick
Thats what my wife thinks My Thinks that I spend more time paying attention to the Kat then her!....I don't see any problem with that  . I use to be a "BIKER" that what she called me.....And yes I would take rides for a few days and go to the different ralleys, But now I am at home and not hanging around the Bars and those scruffy "BIKER TYPES" as she would call my friends. I don't understand it...she complained when I was riding and going to Ralleys like Daytona, Myrtle Beach, Sturgis.etc.etc..Now that I have a hobby that keeps me around the House she still complains! I have been marred..oopps I meant Married for 25 years and I still can't figure her out! I always ask her to join me out in the driveway and she can learn to turn some wrenches and go cruzin with me as long as she stays low in the back seat so no Ladies can see her, I just don't know what I am saying or doing wrong?  Don
