OK, 72 GS convertible, thought I would post this here rather than pestering all the usual helpers....there is stainless trim that runs around the back of the top opening. At each end of this stainless it overlaps the rear quarter window weatherstriping (it is shaped to recieve the round bead of the weatherstripping). Can someone post a pic of how exactly this is done?

I know the bead runs under the trim, but the outer rubber part gets trimmed off beside that area? Slotted for the stainless tang to pass through? Sliced to allow the rubber to run underneath??? Just need a good close up picture of original...

    Thanks all!!

    GStage1 Always looking for parts!

I don't have an original to show you. I usually slide the round bead under the well trim and cut the rubber flush with the mating point.

    Quarter Glass Weatherstrip

Tim, Looked at my 70, however I guess through the years the sun etc rotted the piece in question off thus explaining the hole through to the bottom of the window area. Between the trim and body. I did discover two clips riveted to the weatherstrip at both ends i assume to act as a window guide or to align the weatherstip. Also, on both sides, the screw was not used in the weatherstrip (slotted hole) it was only used to hold the boot trim on. I hope this makes sense, I have no idea how to post a picture or use this computer as you can see. I am in the process of dissassembling my 70, so if you do need pictures, I can e-mail direct.

Just wondering if you ever got any pictures on this? I'm at the same point & don't know what to do. Thanks, Scott

Well it looks like the outer rubber portion of the window weatherstrip is just cut off at a 90 degree angle to the steel bead in the center where it meets the stainless trim. Not a great or good looking way to do it IMHO but not much else a guy can do really...

Thanks for the help, I should have paid more attention when removing the old ones. Thanks again, Scott
