I just bought a 1972 buick skylark with the original buick 350 in it. But I can't find parts for it anywhere. I am currently looking for a 4 barrel intake to house a holley 650, and I'm seeking a pair of headers too. If anyone has any connections around the sioux falls/South Dakota area or can help me out I would be very grateful. I need help, and any other info you can give me to hop up the horsepower numbers I would appreciate too. Thanks matt
I'd go bigger than a 650. I made the mistake of a Holley 600 for my 350 - gets worse mileage and lower performance than the 750 Q-jet did.
Welcome Matt, If your looking for HP from a small block take a look at this thread. Patrick http://www.v8buick.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=40660&perpage=10&pagenumber=1
:beer Welcome aboard, Matt! It's always nice to see more members from the frrrrrrrigid northlands :bglasses: TA Performance is one of the top Buick performance vendors around, at www.taperformance.com I've also heard of www.postonbuick.com having 350 headers, among other stuff. I haven't used Poston myself, you seem to hear 2 extremes when it comes to buying experiences with them. TA sells an aluminum intake for the 350-4. If you want to keep it factory, I suggest posting a wanted ad on the board here, and also keeping an eye on ebay for an iron intake.
Truzi is right about the carb. I would recommend finding a 750 Qjet for your 350. I swapped a 1970 455 750cfm Qjet on this spring, and it runs great! It replaced a newer Carter Comp Series 625 cfm carb. It idles smoother and has much better throttle response.
thanks a million you guys, and yes I also have a holley 750 double pumper but I heard that was an awful lot of intake for a stock 350. But things will happen eventually. And yea I've checked both poston and ta perf. they make excellent stuff, its the cost that gets a little high, but you gotta sacrifice sometiems right? thanks again matt
It sounds like you may be happy with the iron 4bb intake. If you modify the heads ect. then you will need the aftermarket intake. I prefer the 750 or 800 quadrajet carbs to the holly.
