Hi...i am about to rebuild my 350 totally. i got an estimate today from a well known engine place called mr. engine....they said for a total stock rebuild..has to be .040 over cause mine is .030 now, to send the block out...have it toally redone and finished....everything replaced....is $3000.00..is that over priced or is it worth it?

    thanks..kyle

  2. It's not an unreasonable price, but it all depends on the quality of the components they put into it.

My 350 was rebuilt in the late 90's before I owned the car, and I have the shop receipt for it, for about $2700. They bored .030, used forged pistons, balanced the engine, etc. Now I will say this, we had it apart last summer for some oil issues, and it did not appear to be a very professional job. There was silicone EVERYWHERE! Including covering about half the oil pickup screen...
