Need help!!!!!!!!!!!

    I found a 8.5 rear end out of a 68 skylark,with posi and 308 gear.Will I be able to put 342 GEAR IN IT WITH NO PROBLEM,I have a 70skylark with a 293 gear 8.2.Also I am going to need backing plates and brakes.Or can I use my brakes and backing plates.Thanks........

    If its the rear end the car was born with its a 8.2 as well, but we'll assume its been changed, but yes you can han a 342 gear on it no problem, backing plates off you 8.2 will swap over also
