My 69 Z had the cross-ram, 15# GM nodular iron flywheel, tri-y headers, chambered exhaust and I was running the phase 3 cam. Was a great running car....

That makes it pretty tough to recommend anything. 327s came with all sorts of different combos. Without knowing the compression ratio it's straight guess. Did it run on 87? Maybe the best bet is to pull the cam and see if you can get some numbers off it and then get something similar. If its only 8:1, it'll have to be the right cam to get some lope without neutering it...

I agree with you on that. It’ll take me several weeks to get going on this project, so I’ll table it for now. It’s a healthy engine, but I have no idea on specs.

I would love to make that change, but we have a pretty tight budget.

Doing a bit more digging, I found out why the split-window Stingray was a one-year item. Zora hated it because he felt that it hurt rearward visibility in his racing Corvettes, and made enough noise about it that the split window disappeared. Of course the irony of this is that the splits are among the most highly-treasured of all the Stingrays. Another dollop (I don't think that I've used that word in 25 years) of information that I found, is that Zora's cremated remains are at the Corvette Museum in Bowling Green KY.
