I have located another Stage 1 (I hope! 4-speed) The car is a GS. It has bucket seats, 4-speed, and a 455. It has Stage 1 emblems on both fenders and they look factory. Here is a partial VIN 416370H170... I can't make out the rest. The second digit may also be a 4. The body tag has the following: ST70 44637FL1 081578 BDY TR175 75 75 PNT 10D Thanks for the help. Hopefully I can work out a deal with the owner! :TU:
It is a 1970 GS 455 built in Flint, Mich. in the fourth week of October 1969. Fire Red, no vinyl top. Not sure of the interior code. Neither the VIN nor the body tag will verify Stage 1 or 4 speed. You need to get info from Sloan on the car for that. (unless, of course, it still has a numbers-matching SS block or transmission )
I was actually going down that road because I thought I saw a Nova. I've been helping my Dad look for a project car. He is really looking for a 66 or 67 Nova. o No: Anyways, I thought I saw a Nova and had turned around to look at it. Well, it wasn't a Nova. I continued down the street to turn around and lo and behold there it was :jd: At first I thought it was a Skylark. Then, as I got closer, I saw the GS emblem and then the Stage 1 badge. Hopefully I can work a deal :TU: I always look around as I drive. You never know what you'll find.
